children love watching movies or television shows that feature their favorite character. It seems that every child picks one character to focus on. They’ll often ask for DVDs, books and toys that are designed to reflect the character’s image. Soft and cuddly toys are especially nice as they make great additions to the child’s bedroom. For my daughter her Curious George stuffed animal was her constant companion when she was a toddler. She carried it everywhere with her when she was little and slept with it each night.

Finding one where we live proved a bit challenging. Although most toy retailers have what seems like an endless supply of different items, they can’t possibly carry everything. Finding a Curious George stuffed animal toy involved turning to the Internet and finding an online vendor who provided shipping to our area.

There were several sizes available and I wanted to choose one that was big enough that she wouldn’t constantly misplace it yet small enough that we could take it with us in the car. The Curious George stuffed animal I chose was a perfect fit for her little arms and she instantly fell in love with it.

I decided to purchase one that was a bit more expensive because I wanted it to be well made. I know from experience that children tend to not worry about dirt and grime when they are playing with stuffed toys. The Curious George stuffed animal we had in our home would often find its way to our dinner table and would sometimes sport a food spill or two. Cleaning it with a damp cloth was easy and it dried without a stain. The material it was made from could withstand constant spot cleaning, which made the extra cost worth it.

Many soft toys claim that they are machine washable. If you do choose to clean one this way be sure that you follow the directions to a tee, including the washing machine setting and water temperature. You’d hate to have to explain to your child why their favorite toy shrunk.

We still have it, although now it can be found in a box in the attic. I kept it because I have an inkling that when my daughter grows up she’ll want to share the Curious George stuffed animal toy she had when she was young with her own children. Curious George is a character who has been in books and movies for years and I imagine will continue to delight both little boys and girls for many more years to come.
